An Aeromexico flight attendant was allegedly caught filming up a passenger’s skirt during boarding after another passenger captured the incident on camera.
The incident occurred on an Aeromexico flight AM 520 from Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) to Cancun International Airport (CUN).
The eight-second video clip showed a male flight attendant in a squatting position who seemed to casually slide a mobile phone with the camera lens faced up while a female passenger wearing a skirt boarded the flight. While doing this, the flight attendant seemed to appear busy rummaging through the bottom rung of a food cart drawer with his other hand.
The passenger who caught the moment on camera sent the video clip to a journalist, who uploaded it on social media X (formerly Twitter).
Aeromexico issued a statement saying it would be launching an investigation tribunal.
“Aeromexico, in agreement with the Mexican Aviation Flight Attendants Union Association (ASSA de Mexico), regrets what happened and reiterates that no inappropriate conduct will be allowed in its operations,” an airline spokesperson told various media outlets.
What is upskirting?
Upskirting or upskirt photography is the practice of taking non consensual photographs under a person’s skirt or kilt, capturing an image of the crotch area, underwear, and sometimes genitalia.
The act is illegal in several countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and India.
