CIVA is delighted to announce that its first FAI Excellence Category-2 Championships is to be run in combination with the World Aerobatic Championships (WAC) at Mokre/Zamosc Airport, Poland in August 2024. The power Excellence category provides a logical mid-way stage between the long-established Advanced and Unlimited power categories, and has been developed and run in France by the FFA through many successful years.
Power pilots who have established their credentials at Advanced level and are looking for an enhanced challenge will henceforward be able to take a fresh step upwards into this new regime, offering a range of additional figures whose difficulty is carefully set to offer an interesting extension from those at Advanced while remaining comfortably short of the somewhat higher range required when competing at Unlimited.
The championship programmes are different too – one of the two published Known sequences will be selected at the first briefing, and is followed by up to two Unknown programmes with a maximum difficulty of 350K that will be presented by the Contest Director.
The CIVA Excellence Regulations can now be downloaded from the CIVA Document Store.
