Canon will be announcing new gear in late September if the latest report at The Camera Insider is accurate.
Late August through late September is usually a pretty active time for camera related announcements from most manufacturers. We know both Nikon and Sony have big announcements coming soon. I suspect Fuji will also be rolling out their tilt-shift lenses.
As for Canon, we have heard to look out for a September announcement, but we have been unable to confirm the information, let alone nail down a specific date.
We believe Canon’s announcements will be RF and RF-S lenses. Canon also has a history of staggering lens announcements relatively close to one another.
As for cameras, we have no information that one is coming in Q4 of 2023, though it’s always possible we see a repeat of the EOS R3 quasi-development announcement that surprised us.
We don’t want to speculate at this time which lenses are being announced, there have been far too many mentioned that have yet to come to fruition.
